OOTD: Work Week Edition

Every job has a different dress code. How do you decide what to wear on a daily basis? Your fashionistas are here to give you the scoop on what a work week wardrobe looks like!

Tangerine Tea:

I work in an office 4 of the 5 work days. When I’m in the office, I dress business casual. I feel like I have a bit more freedom when choosing clothes for my wardrobe because I can be more fancy with a blazer, or I can dress more casual with something like patterned pants or white pants. I personally like to keep my work clothes separate from my everyday clothes. This helps with mentally keeping work at work and home at home, but it also helps my everyday wear stay more casual (which is my preference).

Here is what this work week looked like with my wardrobe!

Monday was a holiday this week, so we are going to go Tuesday through Friday.

Tuesday was a gorgeous day. I was really feeling the summer vibes. I knew I wanted to wear my white pants. I paired it with this beautiful blue floral top and blue loafers.

Wednesday was the first day of June! I really wanted to hit the summer vibes again. The pants have flowers all over, while the yellow blazer not only matched, but brought a pop of color and the whole outfit together. I am loving the mule trend! I currently have two pairs, and my black pair went so well with this outfit.

Thursday was another light colored fit day, similar to Tuesdays outfit. One of my favorite things about this blouse is that it is from Walmart! Who knew you could find some cute work clothes there?? I love these pin striped pants. I originally bought them for a previous job, they were the first professional work pants I ever bought. The pink loafers go well with the pink flowers of the blouse.

As I mentioned before, I only go into the office 4 of the 5 work days. That is usually Monday through Thursday. Fridays I work from home, which means I stay in my comfy pjs most of the morning. I won’t lie to you, I typically change out of the pjs I slept in and put on fresh pjs. This weeks work from home fit it a Lizzie Mcguire tee and pj pants my MIL gave me that say “weekend mode.”

Some of the items I wore this week were purchased new, some were thrifted, and some were even thrifted from friends. I usually wear black pants at least once during the week, but this week I wanted to wear lighter colors. I even pieced together a new outfit this week!

(Aside from Pam: Did you notice how great Rachel’s mani goes with her outfits this week? Not to mention her phone case ♥)

I’m going to back track a little with this post since Tuesday was my last day of work (RETIREMENT!). I purposely wore dresses all week which is an upcoming post.

The dress code for my job is flexible. Depending on what I’m doing any given day, I can dress up or down. I think a pair of dark-wash jeans are acceptable business casual. Are you a yes or no about that?

I tend to reach for the same clothes everyday, so I started the habit of choosing outfits for the week on Sunday evenings. This way, I purposely choose to wear clothes I like but don’t default to (otherwise I would wear jeans every day). I get creative when I plan this way. Not being rushed and taking my time to think about mixing tops and bottoms in new ways is fun.

Having choice is important to me, so I put together 5-7 different outfits and when I wake up in the morning I decide which to wear that day. There’s always a mix of jeans, trousers, and a skirt or dress.

For this week, I have leggings and tunic, blue linen pant with a white linen shirt, a skirt with white tank and yellow cardigan, jeans with a white and purple finely striped t-shirt, a purple eyelet dress and a cardigan just in case it’s chilly, and a striped shirt that will go with the jeans.

Here’s a few outfits I’ve worn lately, you can see I can be all over the place… Aren’t the lemon sneakers too cute?

I just bought this Gudren Sjoden dress and I’m obsessed. I wore it four times already!

What is your go-to style for work? Are you a decide-in-the-morning person or a planner? Either way- have a great week!
