Dresses for 2022

We are revisiting our dress selection in our closets, this time for summer! Here is what we are wearing.

Tangerine Tea

While I am proud to say I still have all the dresses that I posted about last spring (check that out here), I do have some more I’d love to share!

First I want to start with my favorite casual, “just going to stay home or have friends over” dress. This dress is super soft and super comfy! It is definitely for those days when it feels too hot and humid to put clothes on. A major plus to this dress is that dark horizontal stripes are supposed to be slimming.

Next up is this yellow and white gingham dress with the puffy sleeves. I wore this for Easter and it was a hit! The only con to this dress is if you look at the elastic line right under the chest, you can see that the pattern slants instead of joinging straight across. Fast fashion at its finest.

I love dresses that can be worn through different seasons. This dress has the flowiness of spring, the sleeves (or lack of) summer, and the colors of fall. Somehow it really works in all threes parts of the year! Pair with a jean jacket, some sandals, or some brown boots. I love everything about it.

Here is another dress that is versatile. I originally bought it for Valentine’s Day, but with how bright and vibrant the colors are, I kept it out to be worn in the summer months. Plus, I bought these super cute red heels to go with it!

Do you ever accidentally buy the same dress twice? Or maybe not exactly the same, but they have the same dress, but they have the same vibe? One of these I bought for my bridal shower last summer, the other I bought months later. When I came home with the second one, my husband asked “Don’t you already have that dress?” Oops! Also, can you tell I love yellow?

I can’t wait to work my way through my dress wardrobe this summer as it starts to get warmer!

I would rather wear a dress or skirt any day in the summer. Shorts are not my thing!

When I did my closet change-over for summer, I wondered how much I will actually wear skirts/dresses since I’m not working in an office any longer. There’s the opportunity each week to wear a dress to church, but what about during the week?

In the first two weeks of June, this is what I wore: (you already saw my Gudrun Sjoden dress last week, I wore it again lol)

I just realized looking at these photos I almost always wear my flower glasses when I’m wearing a dress. Can you tell I love wearing leggings with dresses? The floral dress is a favorite, it’s by Fresh Lettuce Produce ( I always get the name wrong!). I have another dress in this same style, thrifted. It looks like they don’t make this same style any longer, which is a shame because it’s very flattering.

I made it a point before I left work to wear a dress or skirt almost every day, since I wasn’t sure if I’d have the opportunity in the future! So many dresses can transition season to season by adding a sweater, leggings/tights, and boots. Here’s a snippet of my spring dresses.

Tomorrow I’m having a retirement lunch with my office-mates and I think I’ll wear a dress!

Do you wear dresses/skirts often? Maybe now is good time to up your dress quotient! Let us know in the comments, we’d love to hear from you.
